Welcome back to my channel, dear gamers. With the Halloween, the spookiest night of the year upon us, i figured that it was more than fitting to kickstart the walkthrough of up to this point, the most controversial game i've ever recorded since my tenure as a YouTube creator started. The game in question is of course, Manhunt so sit back, strap in and by God, enjoy the gameplay.

Please note that the light effects coming through the walls are common graphical issue with PCSX2 emulator which i couldn't get rid of in time for this walkthrough. Despite this, i hope that you'll enjoy my walkthrough.

About Game: Manhunt is 2003 action-adventure stealth video game with the elements of survival horror developed by Rockstar North and published by Rockstar Games for PlayStation 2, Xbox and Microsoft-based PCs with later re-releases for PlayStation 3 and 4 in "PS2 Classics" lineup. Upon release, Manhunt was met with positive critical reception on account of its presentation, atmosphere and storyline which were all seen as unconventional and in some cases, even groundbreaking for a video game with one reviewer calling Manhunt "the Clockwork Orange of video games" while criticism was aimed at the game's repetitive level design, poor enemy AI and clunky shooting controls. However, the true legacy of Manhunt lies in the controversy left in its wake as the game's extreme level of depicted explicit violence saw it turned into the target of media witch hunts, especially in the United Kingdom and United States Of America with Manhunt ultimately being banned in several countries, including Australia, New Zealand, Canada and Germany. Zenith of the controversy related to Manhunt came during the summer of 2004 when Warren Leblanc, 17-year old from Leicestershire, England, killed his 14-year old friend Stefan Pakeerah, apparently being compelled to do so after playing Manhunt with the case ending in Leblanc being imprisoned for life while the court ruled that the game's influence wasn't involved in the murder. As of 2023, it remains one of the most controversial and infamous video games ever made with some former developers from Rockstar having even gone on record, claiming that due to its extreme level of violence, Manhunt caused divisions even during its development and at one point, an open revolt at Rockstar North as some developers believed that they have "crossed the line" with Manhunt. Despite its turbulent release, underwhelming commercial performance compared to other Rockstar's titles of the time such as Grand Theft Auto 3 and Vice City and its problematic legacy, Manhunt enjoys a cult status even today and proved popular enough that Rockstar developed and released a sequel, Manhunt 2 in 2007.

Story of the game is set in the same continuity as 3D Universe games of Grand Theft Auto series and primarily follows James Earl Cash, criminal who is to be executed after spending three years on the death row in Carcer City. However, several hours after his execution via lethal injection occurred, Cash is woken up by a man adressing him via the intercom who urges him to put on an communication earpiece left in the room. Afterwards, the man reveals that he made sure that Cash was spared from actual death and urges him to follow his instructions, promising that if he does, he will be free before daybreak. As Cash heads out onto delapitated, filthy streets of Carcer City, he quickly discovers that the man who saved his life is a director working for an underground snuff film ring and that he is expected to become his newest project's leading star, following the Director's instructions as he stealthily and brutally kills his way through several thugs apparently in the Director's employ...
