This is the third boss fight in the RPG Maker VX game Manifest. It is on Hard difficulty (there are actually three tiers above Hard though and they can be changed at any time) with the Active version of the battle system and the battle speed cranked up to the max setting (the fight still lasts quite a while though). My entire party was level 10 for this fight. "The Decisive Battle" from Final Fantasy VI actually fits this boss fight well, but I think it was an overall poor choice on the game creator's part simply because it's a bit too recognizable.

Bosses in Manifest don't pull any punches and Dread is no exception. Not only can he silence and confuse the entire party, he can also raise his physical defense and even boost his resistance to Holy attacks in addition to hitting the party with some nasty multi-target attacks. Giving Fidese an accessory which made her immune to Silence helped out a lot in this fight since her healing, poison-curing, and Holy-based spells are all pretty vital for this fight. Vellamix can also normally toss out quite a few handy buffs, but he spent most of the fight confused or silenced. Armegmus's Singe skill is also really useful here since Dread is weaker to it than most other elements and he doesn't have any buffs to increase his resistance to it. Trux's Taunt actually proved to not be as useful as usual since it drew Dread's attention, but it also meant the confused party tended to attack him instead of each other so it took them longer to snap out of it. Like all bosses, it was possible to steal a potion from Dread which grants a permanent stat boost.
