Mario kart coming in spring 2014 with all new karting Experience

Nintendo has released a lengthy developer interview with Mario Kart 8 producer Hidekki Konno, detailing a number of new features introduced in the latest series entry.

During the video, which you can watch below, Konno talks about a new anti-gravity mechanic that lets cars race on walls and the ceiling, explains how Miiverse can be used to interact with other players, and discusses a new service called Mario Kart TV.


Nintendo announced Mario Kart 8 for Wii U during its E3 Direct stream on Tuesday, when company president Satoru Iwata promised "Mario Kart 8 will offer the best collection of online multiplayer modes that the series has seen yet".

"This time it's not just racing with other players, but sharing the fun of Mario Kart with others worldwide over Miiverse," he said.
Mario Kart 8 will include 12-player online competitive play. Elements first introduced in Mario Kart 7, such as hang gliders and underwater racing, along with elements introduced in Mario Kart Wii, such as motorbikes and performing tricks in midair, will also return.
