Mario Party 9! Toad Road - Part: 1/2 ( + Project Introduction)
447Here it is guys! Mario Party 9 is finally here! =D
Mario Party 9 decided to take a much different direction with the series than any of the predecessors ever had. Free Roaming the board is no longer an option on this linear set-up and all of the players actually travel together to collect mini-stars. They take turns being the captain and the captain reaps all of the benefits of each dice roll they have when they are in charge. Mini-games are no longer an "end-of-turn" event and are purely spaces on the board, Spin event possibilities, and can sometimes be found inside item boxes. And finally, the game integrates a boss battle system where at the midpoints and end points of each board, all of the players have to team up and take out a boss character together, and the person who performs best, gets the biggest reward.
The first board is Toad Road, a very standard board which introduces all of the basic mechanics and is fairly easy to traverse across. Nothing too out of the box will come up here, but that doesn't mean you can slack off either!
