Market Monday: Why Success can destroy value, Dominaria revisited.
143Rudy makes some good observations about Dominaria. It came out of the gates swinging and was a massive success, so how come the contents of Dominaria are so dismal as far as value is concerned? Is it because of the arbitrarily low supply followed by releasing the supply floodgates like Rudy suggests? Or, does that fact that a set is so beloved and successful in the first place eventually lead to a collapse due to high supply?
In my opinion it is the latter. Success often leads to failure, and failure often to success. Will the dismal reception of core 2019 be its savior when it comes to retaining value? If I am a betting man, and I am, I think this is going to be the case. This is why I am watching Core 2019 closely and ready to pull the trigger on some more appealing candidates for post rotation.
