Martin Scorsese's: After Hours (1985) Spoiler Discussion: Such an Underrated Masterpiece
This film is part of my life story, it is so dear to me. Let's talk After Hours from Martin Scorsese!!
"After Hours" is a dark comedy film directed by Martin Scorsese and released in 1985. The story follows Paul Hackett (played by Griffin Dunne), a bored computer programmer who meets Marcy (played by Rosanna Arquette) in a cafe and agrees to accompany her to her artist loft in SoHo. After their encounter, Paul experiences a series of increasingly surreal and nightmarish events throughout the night in the strange and hostile environment of downtown Manhattan.
Paul encounters a cast of eccentric characters, including a bartender who wants to kill him, a suicidal girl, a mobster, and a vigilante artist. The night quickly turns into a nightmare as Paul struggles to make it back home, running into obstacle after obstacle, and trying to survive the twisted and chaotic world he finds himself in.
The film received critical acclaim for its dark humor, suspenseful atmosphere, and surreal imagery, and is considered one of Scorsese's most underrated films
