This is a long stretch of the game introducing you to all of the various Ubisoft-style world map side missions. This is probably my least favorite part of the game, and I feel like Spider-Man has to have one of the most uninteresting, over-stuffed world maps ever. It doesn't help that a lot of the side missions aren't even unique and most of the challenge is of the form "we'll just keep throwing guys at you until you wish you were dead even if you aren't."

The good thing about this particular run is that we won't actually be dealing with a lot of this nonsense, and will be sticking to the story. Still, though, here we have to waste about 30 minutes on getting the game's ongoing tutorial out of the way.

The game requires you to use the Suit Power once during this section of gameplay as part of this tutorial content. I'm not sure if this means I've decided I'll be using Suit Powers more regularly throughout the run or not. If nothing else, once I get my second Focus Bar, using the Suit Power as a way to get a 2-bar Finishing Move might wind up becoming my go-to strategy for Brute and Sword enemies. We'll see.

8:10 Speaking of Brute enemies, you can see in this video that they are a major problem under these run conditions. They don't seem to stay stunned after a hit from a thrown object long enough for me to combo them (though I may have made some mistakes), and the default 6 web cartridges aren't enough to web them up. I'm hoping the Impact Web will be more useful against them, but still, a lot of this run is going to predicated around figuring out how to deal with Brutes whenever they appear.

18:20 The Fisk Base battle here goes pretty well all in all. I get both bonus objectives, pull off an over 100 hit combo, and end at full health. All in all, pretty proud of this segment, but glad I don't have to do more than one base battle in this run.
