After not playing RimWorld for a few months, I conclude something changed with how grenades are thrown. The melee blocking plus grenades was a disaster due to blowing up my own walls. Thanks game :)

Also: those bugs get really out of hand if you let them be for a bit. This is playing with some Enhanced Infestations mod. The game can't handle that many bugs on the map, which was the main reason I decided to get rid of them.
