In today's episode of the "Rain Code" playthrough, we begin exploring the Mystery Labyrinth for this case, starting with the murder at the clocktower, which includes a quick time event mechanic that I fail miserably at.

Based on the clues that we've gathered, it's clear that the Nail Man used a rope ladder in order to escape from the crime scene at the clocktower. However, instead of letting us come to that conclusion with a multiple-choice selection or a Reasoning Death Match, we have to do so with a new minigame that's like the multiple-choice sections, but the choices are presented one at a time as quick time events. However, while this minigame can actually be pretty fun and engaging once you understand its mechanics, the game doesn't really do a good job at explaining it. From the way the game frames it in the little tutorial blurb, you'd think that this quick time minigame is like the Reasoning Death Matches in that you have to actively dodge the wrong choices by moving left or right, but if you move the control stick in any, you fail the round. As such, despite us falling and the music giving the impression of this being a high-action, high-stakes sort of ordeal, if a wrong choice is onscreen, you have to just let the timer run out on the prompt before you're presented with the next option.
