Someone is going to get arrested for fraud.

// Master's degrees are useless.

No, it is not useless. It is self-evidently useful because you are encouraging people to fake their master's degree, which implies that the existence of a master's degree in your resume is actually useful. It just doesn't have to be acquired genuinely.

I do have a master's degree because my future job is in academia, which actually demands way more than a master's degree, but a PhD is definitely a future possibility. And even then, while it is marginal, you will get higher chance of jobs with a master's degree compared to a bachelor's degree. Even so, college is not always the solution.

// I literally gave myself one on LinkedIn just for fun (there's no verification process).

Yeah, that's not going to work because in here at least, your workplaces will also ask for a soft copy of your diploma. Ironic that this hoopla is here because in Indonesia, there's a huge scandal on whether our previous president Jokowi has actually graduated his college or whether he faked the whole thing. He didn't fake the whole thing. It was entirely authentic and that the whole rumor was politically motivated. I bring that up because fake degrees are things that you really cannot get away with.

// Since adding this to my profile, the DMs have been flowing in. Every other message mentions how 'impressive' my academic background is.

Yeah, I too get those kinds of messages. Unfortunately for you, they're most likely spams.

// So instead of spending $100K+ and wasting years of your life on a degree, just add it to your LinkedIn. No one checks. No one questions.

Except they do check, and they do question. Do not follow this advice if you don't want to be caught with fraud.
