Woohoo! This tune was one of my absolute favorites during the competition. Every time I listened to it, it just sounded like it'd be a lot of fun to play. While that turned out to be true, it was also pretty difficult! Still fun times none the less.
Right now I'm in San Antonio, TX for the Texas Bandmaster's Association festival (again). Last year when I came here it was my introduction to these festivals as well as the people who typically are in attendance. This year it's more of a reunion and it's fun to see many of the people who I've seen all year at these things (Mid-West, TMEA, NAMM, etc.) out on the road.
Next week I'll be spending on the beaches of Maryland and Delaware, with minimal trombone playing! Then, back to New York and normal life.
What elseeeeeeeee... Oh! On my flight from Detroit to San Antonio I got upgraded to first class. It's definitely worth the hype. All about that life, but specifically when I don't have to pay for it.
