There was a time before his drunken racist, anti-Semetic rants, that Mel Gibson was seen as charming. It was a simpler time, with simple family-friendly pictures like 1994's "Maverick" to distract us from the fact that Celebrities and Politicians were actually people with garbage in their souls and skeletons in their closets.
