Max, who has just arrived in his apartment in Sao Paulo, finishes drinking his alcohol and heads back to bed. It soon forwards to the future, where he confronts the mutilated Becker who is dying and trying to get away from Max. Max monologues how they used him and suffer the consequences as he points out, that they were right; that he couldn't differentiate between good and evil.
It cuts to the beginning of the chapter, where Max is working as a bodyguard for his employer, Rodrigo Branco, a real estate businessman alongside his colleague, Raul Passos. They are protecting Rodrigo at a fundraising party with many rich people and celebrities as well. Max is drinking as he looks upon the view of Sao Paulo with its favelas. Max and Passos talk about the party discussing the people there before Passos is joined by his girlfriend, Giovanna.
Max observes the party to see the other Branco family members, Fabiana, Rodrigo's trophy wife who partys with Rodrigo's younger brother Marcelo, a party animal and an idiot. Victor, a local politician, comes into the party and talks with Becker. They soon leave together. As the party continues, masked gangsters enter the party through the elevator, kill one of the bodyguards and kidnap both Rodrigo and Fabiana. After they leave the scene, Max and Passos pursue the kidnappers with Max checking one of the floors.
Max Payne 3 is a third-person shooter video game, and the third and thus far, final title in the Max Payne series. The game was released on May 15, 2012 in North America and on May 18 in Europe, it was developed primarily by Rockstar Vancouver and was published by Rockstar Games for the Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
It is the first game in the Max Payne series, not to be developed by Remedy Entertainment, instead by Rockstar Games
The game follows the life of protagonist Max Payne nine years after the events of the end of the previous game, as he works as a bodyguard for the wealthy Rodrigo Branco and his family, alongside his friend and fellow ex-detective, Raul Passos. The game's plot was written by Dan Houser, co-creator and writer of Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto series, Red Dead Redemption and Bully.
Max Payne 3 received critical acclaim upon its release, holding 87/100 on Metacritic and GameRankings, with various reviewers praise the game for its dark story, improved visuals and gameplay, and the new multiplayer mode introduced in the game.
Main Characters:
Max Payne – The protagonist of the game, a former NYPD detective now working as a private security contractor in São Paulo, Brazil.
Raul Passos – Max's partner, a former cop from Brazil, and a former member of the São Paulo Police.

Marcelo – A major antagonist and a leader of a local crime syndicate in São Paulo.

Gracie – A member of the gang involved in the kidnapping plot, with links to Max's story.
Benny – An informant with valuable information about the kidnappers.
Vlad – A gangster with connections to the criminal underworld in São Paulo.
