Max Payne 3 on PC Social Club UI Bug?

If you are on my Facebook, you'll remember the rage from yesterday of me discovering that a Rockstar's overlay bug prevented me from playing Max Payne 3.
Here's the video I made last night and today about the disappointment of the terrible support I received and just general rage about Rockstar's gaming interface proving to be a pile of rubbish. Imagine Steam locking you out of your games in the same way - it just doesn't happen and get left for over a month with terrible excuses.
Wasn't going to put this up as it was working, but other users have reported the same issues, so hopefully this either makes you chuckle or helps you think through each step suggested - with any luck one of the options will fix it for you and you won't be stuck in perpetual lock out until it's patched.
