Maxon are one of the old guard. They've been copied, ripped off, paid homage to and have been generally acknowledged as one of the greats. Now they're turning the tables and acknowledging some of their own inspiration by releasing the Fuzz Elements Series.
Fuzz Elements include most of the classic fuzzes that we've come to know and love including the mighty 60's Tone Benders. Maxon have released a hybrid version of the Tone Benders that they call "Wind." Wind features all the rasp, honk, compression, mojo and synth-y coolness of the early Tone Benders along with options for Vintage and Hot voicings, and Buffered and Vintage bypass. The bypass, by the way, is True Bypass.
I'll let the video tell the rest of the story.
