Also here's my Letterboxd review of Vol. 2, copy and pasted, just to go over how I truly feel about the movie (since I didn't get into it much):
Really feels like a disservice to the characters when compared to the original. Peter and his relationships especially (Yondu: They told instead of showed his relationship with his adoptive father; before killing him off. Gamora: I did ship it at the time, and they just regressed it when looking at the end of the first movie). Given how they're written I almost legitimately question if the people who worked on this movie also did Vol. 1.
Also when they became heroes who saved the galaxy, I don't know, I thought their adventures would continue involving saving the galaxy. Not essentially being freelancers called "Guardians of the Galaxy" doing odd jobs like slaying that octopus.
I don't mind Baby Groot, but he's not that funny, and certainly didn't deserve the Frozen treatment when this movie came out. Also Taserface isn't funny.
Drax had an interesting arc in the first movie but now he feels like a buffoon who just laughs uncontrollably at everything. But what's character development when you can sacrifice it to make your audience giggle?
Also I don't read comics, but man do I wish for Quill's father they went the comic route instead of making something up. Ego sucks as a villain.

Giving it a star and a half because the soundtrack is still a banger though.
