MechWarrior Online - Shadow Hawk 2K Gameplay
76House Kurita can never be accused of playing it safe with their battlemech modifications. The 2K variant of the Shadow Hawk was a huge departure from the 'mechs original design and combat role. Kuritan techs removed nearly every weapon from the 'mech along with ammo to install a single PPC in the mount previously used for the AC/5. The only original weapon to remain was the LRM5 further emphasising this units new role as a support sniper on the field.
The upside of these changes are more heatsinks to better deal with the PPC heat generation, allowing it to fire regularly without fear of overheating. Surprisingly for some, the 2K became one of the most feared units on the frontline against House Marik, with a record of successful missions. Many Marik troops would refer to the 2K as a simple Griffin knock off, but none debate it's success.
Now in MWO the 2K is probably the variant I like the most. Simple to use and featuring a high mounted energy hardpoint, the 2K can be deadly when used correctly. I highly recommend the 2K just for the challenge and fun that can be had with this unit either stock or custom.
