160Like many other venerable designs created during the era of the Star League the Marauder was taken beyond known space by Kerensky and his loyal forces. As time passed and the former SLDF troops became the clans under the tutelage of Nicholas Kerensky, they also changed those venerable 'mechs.
The Marauder was already a sterling battlemech with little to criticise. It was to be the next generation of battlemechs in the Star League but those plans never came to fruition. The clans however modified their Marauders into the deadly IIC version, though some still exist in the original configuration. The IIC is now a assault chassis, sporting more weapons and armour than it's heavy predecessor.
Built to kill at all ranges it's only drawback is the heat it generates when firing it's mutliple energy weapons. However a canny 'mech pilot will easily compensate for this deficiency and make his 'mech something to truly fear on the battlefield.
