Medal of Honor Allied Assault M05 The Day of the Tiger E05 The Bridge
Welcome to Gus McDoll Strategy and Tactics, and thank you to our subscribers!
In this video we continue the Medal of Honor Allied Assault series, with Mission 5: The Day of the Tiger. Now in Brittany, west of the Normandy landings, Axis forces are holding out in the French port of Brest, with more than 50,000 troops and several coastal defence batteries. Allied Command needs to seize a key estuary crossing into the region to move troops and armour forward. Lt. Powell must move through a sniper infested town to meet with his tank crew and 'liberate' a King Tiger tank, blast his way across enemy territory, then assault and hold a bridge over the estuary until reinforced.
In Episode 5: The Bridge, the Germans at the bridge have certainly been informed of the stolen King Tiger, so Lt. Powell won't be able to drive the tank to the bridge right away. The bridge is wired to blow at a moment's notice from a small detonator on the opposite side. As the team's lone sniper, Lt. Powell must move in quietly, find a good position overlooking the bridge, and keep the enemy from using that detonator until the tank can move into position. If spotted during the approach, he must chase down and kill any of the sentries before they can run off and blow the bridge.
Once the King Tiger reaches the bridge, the Germans will undoubtedly call in reinforcements. The King Tiger is tough, but it can't stop all of them. Lt. Powell must use the radio to call artillery strikes on incoming tanks (remember that it takes a few seconds for the shells to arrive), and hold off the German counterattack until friendly forces arrive to secure the area. If we can win this battle, the German presence in France will be all but finished by mid-September.
Each video is a walk through of one episode within each mission, aiming at enjoyment rather than speed. I have included the briefings and results, but have edited out my many deaths along the way!
As the game has a rich audio experience for you to enjoy, we have not added a commentary or voice-over to the video.
