Meet Mellow Yellow The Axolotl! (No Video Tonight)
50My Axolotl information/setup listed below this! Edited and recorded on phone. As the title mentions this is my new pet family member called Mellow Yellow! I have had him/her since March 11th, 2021. Mellow was born November 30th, 2020. Was 3 inches when Mellow arrived, now closer to 5 inches. He/She is an Super GFP Golden Albino. Glows green under moon/blue/black light (GFP or Green Florescent Protein). With the know hets of albino, melanoid, high irodophore golden albino. Hand fed mouth size shrimp/salmon pellets, bred guppies, and quarantine backyard worms like red wringler, night crawlers, and earth worms. GFP was added by humans to track limp growing properties to see if they could solve cancer with their DNA. Are endangered due to living only in lake complex of Xochimilco near Mexico City. They have a rare trait of retaining its larval features throughout its adult life. This condition, called neoteny, means it keeps its tadpole-like dorsal fin, which runs almost the length of its body, and its feathery external gills, which protrude from the back of its wide head. have to live in 58-68 F (mine is set to 17-19 C due to it being from another country) water, so I have a chiller for the tank along with PVC 3 inch pipes, marino ball, java moss, and photos plant in a 10 gallon(with 7.8 ph well tap water and all levels like ammonia are prefect) tank soon to upgrade to 55 and use the current tank for Ghost Shrimp live feeders. Probably got sucked due to keeping the windows open to make it run lense lol. So I got nothing done and probably won't get to batch recording tonight. Sorry!
