7▶️Ah yes, welcome to the Benelux - but it’s Countryballs.
This is a compilation of short Countryball animations with the three Benelux countries! Countries included: Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg, Canada (Maple Spheres bottle).
The Benelux is a politico-economic union and international intergovernmental cooperation of three neighboring countries in Northwestern Europe. These are: Belgium, Netherlands, and Luxembourg. The name Benelux is actually a blend word from the first few letters of these countries’ names and was first used to name the customs agreement that initiated the union (signed in 1944). It is now used more generally to refer to the geographic, economic, and cultural grouping of these countries.
Not to be confused with the Low Countries, which is a coastal lowland located in Northwestern Europe forming the lower basin of the Rhine—Meuse—Scheldt delta and today is consisting of the three “Benelux” countries: Belgium, Luxembourg, and the Netherlands - which both English and French give the same name as the traditional regional name.
Also, it’s International Workers’ Day! Often referred to as “May Day,” it is a holiday that occurs on the first day of May every year, and is the celebration of laborers and the working classes that is promoted by the international labor movement.
