Here's something a little different, long time in the making. Toonstruck is an early game released in November 1996 by Virgin Interactive Entertainment and Burst Studios. A fun little adventure staring a star-studded cast, with the likes of Christopher Lloyd, Dan Castellaneta, Jim Cummings, Tim Curry, David Ogden Stiers, Corey Burton and Tress MacNeille to name but a few. In this Live action crossed with animation in a style of Monkey Island meets Rodger Rabbit. Drew Blank must solve puzzles and talk his way back home after he is transported into a world of his own creation (Cutopia) and with his sidekick Flux Wildly (A character he never got to publish in his youth) must fight the notorious Count Nefarious and his three witless lackies Feedback, Lugnut and Goggles from destroying the cute and cheerful world and making it dark and broken using a ship (Cutifier) created from parts picked up during their adventure. This ship is the mirror opposite of Nefarious' Malevolator which is what has been used as the tool of destruction. In this episode, we'll be searching through town and meeting many of the helpful characters including a mixed up Irish and Scottish clover-shaped cheese in a tavern, who's being pestered by a Zanyduian (Home of Flux) mouse that we must bop on the noggin with a makeshift trap aided by the barman's organ. And onward we meet a shifty octopus called Fingers (voiced by the late Dom Deluise), who has also left Zanydu to "entertain" the cute Cutopian's out of their money playing his rigged and attractive games in this archade. One of which is funnily called Whackman ("Packman") which we have to beat to win a prize. Then two sad frog bakers named Dough and Mee who have lost their brother Ray (who has been kidnapped by Nefarious' lackies for 'Reasons) and then a flamboyant scarecrow (carecrow) who tells us his job is to care for the crows, which is very much different as what a scarecrow's job is in real life. A that he wants us to do him a favour, by accuiring a snazzy new outfit for him to show off in whilst in the field. Finally we meet Marg, Polly and Elmer (A cow, sheep and old horse) who are having troubles of their own, they've lost a part of their Churn-a-tron, so are unable to produce butter for the bakery to make bread. So on our next journey we will have to explore Zanydu to find objects to aid all our new found friends. Hopefully we will manage to succeed, who knows what will happen if we don't.
