I purchased a 3-in-1 Power Supply from a French eBay seller (also has a proper website) that can power your Model 1 Sega Mega Drive, Mega-CD and a 32X all at once, without the need for 2-3 of those massive wall-warts that weigh about as much as a Fiesta.

I tested the PSU and it powered everything on nicely. The other day, I went to try an MCD game for the Kaico Mega Drive HDMI Adapter video, and noticed the MCD disc tray opened and closed rather slowly.

It was working fine before, the only difference was the PSU. So I tried the original PSU on the MCD and lo and behold, the disc tray opens like it should. For some reason, the 9V 3A power supply is either faulty, or cannot handle the Mega-CD power requirements.

Tried finding a 10V 3A+ PSU but can't seem to find any anywhere. Aside from that, does anyone know what could be causing this to happen, despite the PSU supposedly having more than enough juice for what it needs to do?
