Mega Man 4, 5 and 6 represents a new trilogy that I call the "Wily trickery or manipulation"-era.

A friend of a friend had this game where I played it the first time. It didn't really catch my interest but I was concerned why my favorite character, Protoman, had turned evil now. None of the robot masters were really all that interesting with perhaps the sole exception being Gravity Man. It's still a Mega Man game I have to pull my hair just to play because it's not very fun. It's sole call to fame is the Dark Man theme which basically became the unofficial Protoman theme by association, that Rockman-Holic made a great cover of called 'Twilight Loneliness'.

So yeah, that sums up my feelings on MM5.
