MM9 has some similarity to MM2 in terms of absence of charge shot & sliding, sound effects (Magma Bazooka = Atomic Fire), and music. Some songs are exactly same as MM2's, and Concrete Man stage theme's intro is inspired by Wood Man's intro (I've knew it on a interview to the MM9 composer somewhere) The drum sounds is from MM2 too, such as Tornado Man theme's snare is same as Quick Man's.
This time I found a similarity between MM9 ending theme and MM2 stage select theme. At first I found the bassline is about the same, and I realized the melodies and the musical structure is too.
