Mega Man (ロックマン, Rockman) for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) is a classic action-platformer developed by Capcom and released in 1987.

In Mega Man, players control a humanoid robot created by Dr. Light to stop the evil Dr. Wily and his rogue Robot Masters. Known for its tight gameplay, strategic boss battles, and innovative ability to absorb enemy powers, Mega Man set the stage for one of gaming's longest-running franchises.

Keiji Inafune, one of the lead developers, is often credited as the "father" of Mega Man, helping to define the character's iconic design and gameplay elements.
