Mega Man Legacy Collection is the most faithful and accurate recreation of Mega Man 1-6 we've ever seen. But just how accurate is it? We've captured sections of the game side-by-side on Xbox One and on RGB-modded NES hardware running the original cartridges to show just how faithful it is.

Notes: The NES footage is captured at 720p (3x upscale) while Xbox One is rendered in 1080p; it appears the actual games are displaying at 960p (4x) with the remaining space being filled by a frame — this is especially obvious with the Mega Man 4 footage, which has the border art option turned on. Also, the color shifting that shows up in the NES sequence is a strange effect caused by the editing software and was not present in the original source material.

I tried to pick portions of the games especially susceptible to slowdown and flicker to demonstrate how accurately MMLC recreates the NES games, warts and all.
