Mega Man Rock & Roll Blind Run - Closing thoughts
Here, I sum up what I thought about Mega Man Rock 'n' Roll as a whole.
In general, the stages and bosses in this game were of the type that are nasty at first but become not too hard once you're used to them, though I still think a couple of them stepped over the line with that, mainly Copy Robot, Wily's first form, and the Research Labs. Copy Robot was especially bad because it deals ridiculously high damage to Proto Man compared to how quickly you can damage it, and his stage takes a fair amount of time to get through. The Research Lab stage had a fine boss, but the stage itself was just too long for how punishing it was, or too punishing for how long it was (so many spikes...). It's easy to overlook how to damage Wily's first form, and it took me a while to find a decent strategy for fighting it even when I did figure that out. The game also wasn't entirely clear on a few things, such as Roll taking more damage or the characters having different animal support buddies. On a more positive note, though, the graphics generally looked nice, the music was quite good (especially the stage music for the Power Supply and Ghost Woman), the level design was overall pretty good and interesting, and the Robot Masters were pretty neat. I admit that I was a bit leery of doing a blind run of a Mega Man game at first, especially a fangame; the series is not exactly known for being easy, nor are fangames in general, but I think it turned out just fine for the most part. I quite enjoyed this game, and I'd easily recommend it to anyone who likes classic Mega Man.
See you next time!
