Mega Man ZX (Vent Playthrough PART 1 - No Commentary) | Mega Man Zero/ZX Legacy Collection (PS4)
348I just recently finished the Mega Man Zero series on the Mega Man Zero/ZX Legacy Collection. Now, it's time to cover the succeeding series that released on the Nintendo DS: Mega Man ZX. This series evolved the gameplay of Mega Man Zero by allowing the player to control multiple characters based on the Biometals in their possession. Each Biometal has unique abilities and mechanics which allow for faster traversal, better combat, and/or puzzle solving. This gameplay system was very unique, but only lasted for 2 games due to poor sales.
The story of Mega Man ZX takes place 300 years after the events of Mega Man Zero 4. Humans and Reploids have put aside their differences and rebuilt civilization after its near destruction at Dr. Weil's hands. However, inequality still remained an issue between the 2 races as humans had neither the strength nor longevity of Reploids. So, an accord is reached. Humans receive cybernetic enhancements to increase their strength and lifespans while Reploids are allowed to have full autonomy but must be modified to have mortality. This accord allows for peace to reign on Earth for centuries. However, Maverick outbreaks unexpectedly begin to occur and civilization is once again threatened. The player character in particular (either Vent or Aile) is a victim of an early Maverick raid and loses their mother 10 years prior to ZX starting. As a young adult, Vent/Aile works as a package transporter to earn a living. However, when a contract one day goes awry, they come into contact with Biometal Models X & Z, housing the spirits of Mega Man X and Zero respectively. Afterwards, they get pulled into a conspiracy to awaken an ancient Biometal, known as Model W, which could destroy the world. It's up to Vent/Aile to stop the President of Slither Inc., Serpent, from awakening Model W and bringing Dr. Weil's evil back into the world.
Mega Man ZX is longer than any of the Mega Man Zero titles. So, the playthrough has been split into 2 videos. This first video covers the 4 intro stages, the first 4 Pseudoroid stages, and then the mid-game event where we fight Prometheus. Enjoy!
