6,825Just a super simple Video today with a heap of old keys and locks melted into an awesome mirrored bar . I also do a quick Furance reline and coat for anyone whos curious . Finally the kilns running I just need to make up a heap of molds now , So cant wait to try some Lost PLA casting soon.
Who doesn't love a nice smooth copper pour. Just a great time stripping and pouring in this weeks video. Today I also show again how to eliminate the horrible air pockets or gas pockets in the larger copper bars . Boron Nitride is what I used and it works great . And when its over $100 a bottle it friggen well should !

HOW I MIRROR FINISH A BAR
I start with an 80 grit flap disc on my angle grinder then I use my drill with a 50 mm round sanding discs . I start with 150 grit then go through the following Gritz 240-400-800 Then once I get to the following Grits I use a small squirt of WD-40 1200-1500-2000-2500-3000-5000 .
The WD40 helps to lubricate the discs and stops the sanding disk binding up with the metal powder , I’ll also every now and then wash my discs to get any metals off them. Then after that I use my buffer wheel on my bench grinder to get a perfect mirrored shine on it👌 🏻 😁 . Now if you jump ahead too much on the grit levels you will have small scratches on the bar that you can’t get rid of so it’s really a personal preference on just how perfect you want that Bar.
