Take control of the battlefield for the Open Multiplayer Tech Test starting March 23th

Experience warfare like never before! Men of War II, the anticipated sequel to the acclaimed RTS franchise is here with all-new units, locations, campaigns, and game modes, combined with the series’ trademark historical accuracy and action-filled gameplay on Eastern and Western Fronts of WWII. Eagerly awaited by many players and strategy game enthusiasts, the upcoming sequel to the acclaimed RTS franchise Men of War II will launch in 2023.

The test features 4 multiplayer modes (out of 7 that will feature in the full game) and 5 varied maps, in addition to a set of 9 single-player tutorial missions that will take you from the basics through to advanced gameplay mechanics and systems.

But please keep in mind the game is still in development, and this test version does not fully reflect the quality of the final release. Your participation will allow us to prepare for launch by testing our infrastructure on a large scale and identifying bugs and issues that may only be detected with many users playing the game at the same time. If you encounter any bugs or issues or just have a suggestion we should look into, please come to the Men of War II Discord server or the Steam discussions and let us know - we appreciate all your feedback!

Once downloaded, you can battle it out in 1v1 up to 5v5 matchups via custom lobbies or PvP matchmaking. Setting up a lobby allows the owner full customization over the game mode, map, and team sizes, as well as private, password-protected lobbies. Matchmaking on the other hand will automatically group players by their real-world location and ranking based on their past games and set them up in Front Line mode. The tech test includes only a small sample of the content Men of War II will feature on release, but it already proves the depth and variety of gameplay and dedication to historical accuracy that will make it the most immersive depiction of World War II battles in franchise history.

During the Tech Test for Men of War II, players will have access to three different battalion choices from the Soviet, German, and U.S. armies. These battalions include the 1st Infantry, 1st Tank, and 1st Artillery units, allowing players to test out over 80 different units from the full game’s total roster of more than 300 units.

There are four different multiplayer modes available during the tech test: Combat, Assault Zones, Front Line, and Incursion. In Combat mode, two teams engage in an all-out brawl, with victory going to the team that destroys the most enemy units while keeping their own valuable units alive. Assault Zones mode requires opposing players to capture and hold strategic points on the map to earn victory points. Front Line mode is a brand new, strategic mode that requires teams to use infantry to push their Front Line into enemy territory, resulting in a tense tug-of-war style match-up where teamwork is crucial. Incursion is an asymmetric game mode where one team must capture a number of highlighted zones held by the opposing team.

The Tech Test also features five different multiplayer maps, including Bazerville, Borovaya River, Farmland, The Coast, and The Winter March. Bazerville is a map with flat terrain and little elevation, making it ideal for long-range fighting or exploiting weaknesses with fast-moving units. Borovaya River is a rugged map with many hills and valleys, split in half by a large river, providing players with numerous tactical options to experiment with. Farmland is a complex map that initially appears deceptively simple, with flat terrain and no elevation, but it features many farmsteads, greenhouse buildings, and deep ponds with narrow crossings that create natural chokepoints for heavy vehicles. The Coast features a significant portion of the map taken up by the sea, leaving a narrow strip of flat land for players to fight over. Finally, The Winter March is set in harsh winter conditions, combining rolling countryside terrain with destructible village buildings, providing plenty of opportunities for ambush and cover.
