Wow, my first attempt on this category after the diamonds/spades skip was discovered and I save over 20 minutes! I wasn’t expecting that. I had done some timing in practice and I knew around 20 minutes of timesave was possible comparing sum of bests, but this exceeded expectations.

For some statistics, I had done 13 attempts since my last WR with an attempt counter of 37 (I was trying to break the record and then stopped when I started the process of buying my house). My new sum of best after this run is a 1:03:13, an over 25 minute improvement, and a total playtime of 17:59:07. I will go ahead and do a full recap below with the following format

There’s easily a full minute of gold potential here, if not 2. My golds are from practice, I’m surprised I took the 8:22, I was trying to get somewhere close to a true possible gold in practice. The 8:22 actually came from doing 9, 7, 10, then 4. Happened on accident, but it worked out well. Might be a route to consider in the future.

The unluckiest fling in the entire run lost me over a minute here, at the 6 I managed to hit a tree and then I think I would have made it to the bridge but I bumped a helicopter on the way down and made it into the water. Then the first fling in downtown Pyongyang just… didn’t work right

VERY interesting glitch here, returning to the northern checkpoint the jeeps started spawning before I made it to the circle! I can’t remember hearing about this before. I could have saved quite a bit of time but I didn’t realize what was happening until the SK soldier said to get that jeep

God-tier Proper Function here, best agent RNG possible. Still doing attempts at this category and I usually lose at least one minute on this split

Another excellent contract, even with a suboptimal first fling

GOKD Start

Some gold potential here, first fling could have been better and I probably would have been safe doing a third fling, but I played it safe and drove so I couldn’t end up in the water hazard

The Guns of Kirin-Do
Unfortunately someone I missed managed to move my baggage carrier while I was calling in an SS. Looking back it would have been a better idea to stop and try again

This was pretty good! I forgot how to manage the audio glitch properly so I wasted some time screwing around with that, a little gold potential here

Manipulate the Data

This split used to include the flings from the MASH to get here after GOKD, so this is kind of a fake gold. With the fail there’s certainly gold potential here

I’m surprised this was a gold, I was basically just doing a safe strat that I knew could get me across the water

This one was painful, I thought going across the ridge was supposed to get you a disguise but I didn’t get one on either attempt. Maybe I’m doing it wrong? I also forgot the strat to call in the helicopter

The Ace of Spades
Writing this out I just realized I split this split into 2 splits, the AOS Start and The Ace of Spades. That’s why this is a gold. I don’t know why I did that but I don’t know how to fix it. Pretty good Ace of Spades regardless.
