Mercs, called Senjou no Ookami II in Japan, is a top-down arcade shoot-'em-up developed by Capcom, which was ported to a variety of home consoles and computers including the Sega Mega Drive and Sega Master System. It is a sequel to the arcade game Commando (Senjou no Ookami in Japan) and was followed by Wolf of the Battlefield: Commando 3 in 2008.
《戰場之狼2》是整個系列的唯一續作，原作的基本遊戲方式得以完全保留，但某些改進卻使本作完全超越了前作。在本作中，主角的生命是採用了血條。遊戲中還可駕駛車輛設備，你不僅可以駕駛吉普碾壓敵人，還可以操縱旋轉炮臺，炮艇，甚至坦克。
《戰場之狼2》在大型機台還算成功，因此被移植到多個平臺，品質接近大型機台版的移植作還是要到PS與SS平台上的《Capcom Generation Vol 4》。MD平台要幸運一些，雖然缺乏多人協作模式，但卻擁有『大型機台模式』和『原創模式』兩種游戲模式，後者當然是專門為MD量身打造的。
真正令MD版脫穎而出的當然還是『原創模式』。這種模式在基本的遊戲方式，敵人配置，武器裝備等方面與街機版完全一樣(只有關卡重新設計)。原創模式真正的特色在於擁有多名可選角色。每名角色都擁有自己獨有的武器和血條，如果不是缺乏多人協作模式，或許MD版能超越大型機台版也說不一定。
