Really enjoyed this fight.
Me and Dan started HEMA at pretty much the same time. Just looking back at this fight compared to some of our older ones, we've both improved massively.
Much less wasted movement from myself, both of us are far more calculated with our attacks and overall I'm just impressed with how far we've come.
Dan's only recently started playing with the single swords, he started off learning longsword, whereas I knew I was destined for the shieldwall, so went for the single handed.

All our sparring has been a lot of fun over the last 6 months, but it was really good to have the chance to spar with Dan with a same sized weapon. It changed the dynamics a lot as against a longsword, I'm typically always needing to close. Dan on the other hand could use his range to his advantage a little more.
But in this one, as you can see there was lots more exchanges and parrying, fighting over the bind.

Anyway, moral of the story is now I want a sabre too...
