Pros:
Large open world makes for the most amazing Metal Gear Solid Experience ever.
Wonderfully responsive controls. This is how all open world games should feel.
Options, on top of more options. Play and progress how you want to. Creativity is rewarded with high ranks, hero points, and money.
Intelligent AI makes for challenging stealth/alert situations. Enemies communicate amongst each other and respond properly to sounds and strange occurrences.
Side Ops, Mother Base development, Cassette Tapes, Battle Deployments (Mini Game), make for fun distractions.
So much to unlock. There's a lot of game here.
Cons:
The mission based story will rub most fans the wrong way, as the missions range between "contracts" (you run a private military) to "save the world" type experiences. It's never consistent.
Open world could have used more distractions other than "Side Ops", which primarily take place in areas you've visited via main story. The world is large, but relatively empty.
Unlocking the true ending requires older missions to be played on higher difficulties, just to unlock progression based missions. What. The. Fuck?
Two Boss battles. Two. TWO...boss battles. Why? WHY? Other "Boss" encounters are avoidable. Really awkward decision there.
While the story has it's moments, dark tone and all, the majority of the campaign is average when compared to previous titles.
Ally and Enemy development is weak. You don't care much for these characters, including the all of a sudden, quite Snake. GDI WHY!!
