It's Metal Slug Mania Time! A Ten Part Series dedicated to looking at the history and evolution of the mainline Metal Slug franchise from SNK! Ok so we went well over 10 parts...but you asked for these! So it's time to take a look at the Metal Slug 2 Turbo ROM hack for Neo Geo AES / MVS (also works on MiSTer FPGA Neo Geo core) and Metal Slug XX for the PSP. (a remake of Metal Slug 7 on Nintendo DS) Retrogaming double feature!

I really wanted to take a look at the Metal Slug franchise as it's one of my favorite arcade series of all time and the history behind the games and their evolution is quite interesting. When it comes to retro gaming you can't skip Metal Slug!

Up last! Wow this is the last episode...and it's another bonus episode! As we talked about in the Metal Slug 2 video...it's a legit amazing arcade run and gun from SNK and NASCA...but it definitely suffers from too much slowdown! So why not try Metal Slug 2 Turbo...which fixes a LOT of the slowdown.

Or give Metal Slug XX (Double X) a try! It takes Metal Slug 7 from the Nintendo DS and improves on everything! Better music, higher resolution, changes to colors to make them more interesting...a total retro gaming win!
One issue...the game has PAINFUL slowdown! Like wow bad

I am playing on the MiSTer FPGA Neo Geo core too! So you don't need to drop thousands of dollars on an AES cart!
