Metal Slug 3D - All Unused Dialogues
Metal Slug 3D is a third-person action shooter developed by SNK Playmore, released exclusively in Japan for the PlayStation 2 in 2006. It represents a bold departure from the iconic 2D side-scrolling roots of the Metal Slug series, bringing the franchise into 3D for the first "and only" time.
Set after the events of Metal Slug 3, the game follows the familiar heroes (Marco, Fio, Eri, and Tarma) as they battle against the resurgent forces of General Morden and uncover a deeper plot involving bioweapons and mysterious technologies. The narrative is driven by cutscenes and character dialogue, staying true to the military-comedy tone of the series.
While the move to 3D was ambitious, the graphics received criticism for being outdated even at release, with blocky models and clunky animations. However, the game retains the over-the-top explosions, quirky humor, and exaggerated enemy designs the series is known for.
