Metaphor: ReFantazio is a fantasy game from ATLUS which takes place in the kingdom of Euchronia shortly after the assassination of its king, during a time where political tensions are already high. Due to a posthumous royal decree, there is a tournament being held for the throne—of which any person of any tribe may stake their claim, so long as they win the popular vote of the people. This causes somewhat of an uproar at first, as there is a clear disparity between some of the realm's races. The most hated of all of these races are the Elda—among which is our protagonist, on his journey to lifting the supposed-dead rightful heir's curse. In doing this, he unexpectedly finds himself entering the tournament and travelling the kingdom (and beyond) in order to win the favour of the people.
