METRO EXODUS_PC Enhanced Edition Complete Edition |Part 10 Speaking to the wise Gameplay Walkthrough
Metro Exodus continues the story of Artyom, a survivor of a post-apocalyptic Moscow where nuclear war has left the surface world deadly and irradiated, forcing the remnants of humanity into the Metro tunnels. Based on the novels by Dmitry Glukhovsky, Metro Exodus takes Artyom and a small group of survivors on a journey far beyond the tunnels in search of a better life.
Here’s a summary of the main plot:
Prologue: A Fractured Moscow
In Metro Exodus, Artyom becomes increasingly convinced that there is life outside of the metro. Though dismissed by many of his comrades, he ventures to the surface to search for radio signals from survivors. This leads to a confrontation with Hansa, one of the powerful factions in the Metro, and Artyom discovers that a jamming device has been blocking signals from the outside world. By disabling it, he realizes that Moscow is not the last bastion of humanity as he’d been told.
The Journey Begins: Leaving Moscow
With his wife Anna and a group of trusted companions from the Spartan Order, Artyom boards a train, the Aurora, and escapes Moscow. Their goal is to explore the unknown lands beyond the city, hoping to find a safe place free from radiation and tyranny. As they journey through various regions, each season marks a different environment, enemy, and challenge, highlighting the diversity of Russia’s post-apocalyptic landscape.
The Volga River (Spring)
In the first major stop, Artyom and the crew encounter a cult led by Silantius, who worships a massive fish creature and rejects all technology. They believe that the radiation sickness suffered by the children is a punishment for using technology. Despite the cult’s hostility, Artyom meets Krest, a mechanic who joins the crew and helps modify the Aurora, enabling the journey to continue.
Yamantau (Spring)
Hoping to find safety in a rumored government bunker in the Ural Mountains, the group travels to Mount Yamantau. However, they discover that the bunker’s occupants are cannibals, surviving by luring in travelers. After a harrowing battle, Artyom and the crew narrowly escape, but they’re left disillusioned and wary.
The Caspian Sea (Summer)
In a region reduced to a desert wasteland, Artyom and his team search for water and fuel. They encounter the violent bandit lord Baron, who controls resources and oppresses locals. Artyom’s struggle here highlights the desperation of the post-apocalyptic world and the lengths to which people will go to survive. During their stay, Artyom meets Giul, a former slave who provides key information about the area and becomes an ally.
The Taiga Forest (Autumn)
In the forests of Taiga, Artyom is separated from the group and encounters a faction called the Pioneers, as well as their rivals, the Children of the Forest. These factions are comprised of former children who survived on their own and now have a strict code against outsiders. Artyom must navigate this treacherous environment, making choices that influence how he is perceived by these groups. This area represents a shift from combat to survival and stealth, as Artyom often needs to avoid or evade foes.
The Dead City (Winter)
Near the journey’s end, Artyom reaches Novosibirsk to find a medicine that can cure Anna’s rapidly worsening illness, a result of radiation poisoning. Here, he meets a young boy named Kirill, one of the last remaining survivors of the city, who guides him through the irradiated environment. Artyom finds the medicine but suffers from extreme radiation exposure, barely making it back to the Aurora.
The Finale: Lake Baikal
As Artyom lies dying, Miller sacrifices himself by giving Artyom his anti-radiation drug. The group finally reaches the pristine Lake Baikal, where they find a seemingly untouched and beautiful land. Artyom is given the chance to recover in this safe haven, and the survivors begin to establish a new community, fulfilling Artyom’s vision of finding life beyond the Metro.
Endings
The ending depends on the moral choices made by the player throughout the game. In the good ending, Artyom survives, and the community thrives in Baikal. In the bad ending, Artyom succumbs to his injuries, leaving Anna and the others to mourn him but continue on with his vision of a life beyond Moscow.
