In this video, we see the opening cutscenes. Samus is attacked by parasites known as the X and has to undergo major surgery. Thanks to a cell culture from the Metroid hatchling, she makes it out alive, but now her appearance is drastically altered and she has few of her former abilities. In other words, Samus is now wearing a stripped-down blue suit instead of her standard orange armor.
Samus is sent to the B.S.L. research station, where the infected pieces of her suit were sent. Sometime after this happened, there was a large explosion. Could the two events be linked?
Samus' mission here is being overseen by a rather bossy computerized CO.
When she reaches the site of the explosion, she finds an X parasite. Oh no! Those parasites may look like Flubber, but they nearly killed Samus! Their presence in the space labs is a bad sign.
