Metroid Prime 2: Echoes (Trilogy Version) Playthrough Part 35: The Hermaphrodite Chykka
0You read correctly; the Chykka is a hermaphrodite. That's not important, but still. Anyway, this is a two part battle. The Chykka Larva doesn't do much, but don't get grappled by its tongue. Specifically, don't try to free yourself using Super Missiles. You see where that idea got me. The Chykka Adult is slightly harder. You have to stun it, and then use Seeker Missiles on the four weakspots on its wings. Getting behind it in time can be tricky but not all that much. When it falls in the water it transforms into the Dark Chykka, which is when you can let loose some real damage with the Light Beam. Personally, I love this boss battle. As opposed to every other boss in this game, the Chykka surprises you. There is nothing in this game that comes close to resembling the Chykka. Maybe the War Wasps, but that's a dramatic exaggeration. The music is amazing too. There are five scans in this so don't miss them.
