Playthrough – Finale: A Final Showdown at Planet Phaaze
It's come to this everyone. The final battle is here.
Samus reunites with the Federation Fleet. With the captured Leviathan in their possession, they open a portal to the planet Phaaze. As the Federation forces take on the main assault, Samus heads into the planet itself. But the instant she takes her first step, she soon feels the phazon flowing through her.
Her corruption gets much worse and she's forced to activate the emergency system on her PED suit. Depending on how many energy tanks you obtained, your time limit on the planet is extended. Having the maximum ensures you have the time needed to do it. Bear in mind that if the gauge fills completely, instant game over. So you have to get this done.
You are in Unlimited Hypermode so go all out if needed. Important tip: Use the Hyper Grapple to send phazon to enemies you snare. This can help drain the gauge faster. At the end you will face off against Dark Samus. Dark Samus is a lot easier compared to Prime 2 despite having newer attacks. Just use charge blasts and he'll go down. When it decides to heal itself, damage the shield to ensure that it won't. Also using the X-Ray Visor can help you find the real one when it uses illusions. Honestly you don't need it. Just go all out.
Once Dark Samus is neutralized, it absorbs itself into the Aurora Unit 313. It's where the final battle begins. It's two phases and it's THAT EASY! Seriously. You need to damage one of it's tentacles then damage the glowing hole to stun it. Afterwards, head to it and use the Grapple Lasso to open it up. Afterwards, use Charge Blasts to damage it. If you are really skilled, you can take him down quick. Then comes the second phase and with it, it's weakness is on the back of it's head. Repeat the same process but this time go around it and deliver charge blasts. Seriously. Skilled players can take it down in a minute or two.
With Aurora Unit 313 defeated, it also causes Dark Samus to be defeated too. With its destruction, phazon goes with it. Samus' corruption is reversed, freeing her. She wastes no time and escapes. Back at the fleet, they notice Phaaze going critical and order the fleet to escape. Using the Leviathan, they do so. Escaping the explosion, the Fleet do a damage assessment but wonder about Samus. Fortunately Samus delivers a message: Mission Complete.
Depending on how many pickups you obtained, the ending changes. At 75% completion, you get a scene of Samus resting at Elysia and reflecting on the loss of the other Hunters: Rundas, Ghor and Gandrayda. At 100% completion, Samus departs towards a new hunt not realizing that she's being tailed.
