Just wanted to show off the preliminary Hyper Mode that is present in the prototype. Apparently, they were considering three different ways to handle the corruption mechanism of Hyper Mode, each of which can be set in the debug menu settings. Hyper Mode can be enabled by using the give everything cheat in the Debug Menu and pressing Y and A at the same time.

Here are the three different mode that can be set for Hyper Mode in the debug settings:

0 (Timer) - Meter starts out full and is expelled with each shot. After 5 seconds (by default, can be changed in debug menu), corrupted mode begins where the meter gradually increases over time. If the meter isn't emptied when corrupted mode ends, you die.
1 (Phazon Level) - The meter starts out at half and doesn't go down with each shot until corrupted mode starts. When corrupted mode starts, the meter gradually increases and increases at a faster rate the longer you stay in corrupted mode until it reaches a point where it's impossible to expel the entire meter. When the meter is full, you die.
2 (SPD Phazon Level) - This functions almost exactly like #1, except when the corrupted timer expires, the Phazon meter is emptied automatically. This mode is closest to the one used in the final version, with the only difference being how the meter works in non-corrupted mode.

As far as Hyper power-ups are concerned, all of them (except for maybe the Hyper Grapple) are present with a few differences:

-Normal shot has no charge function, though is affected by the "HyperShot" rapid-fire item.
-Hyper Missile just fires a Super Missile from Prime 1 and 2.
-Hyper Ball seems to function exactly like it does in the final, though it uses the Spider Ball's sound effect.
