The goal of Max% Minimum Majors is to collect as many items possible with the least amount of major upgrades. Currently, only 10 major upgrades are collected, as are listed as follows:

- Morph Ball
- Charge Beam
- Bomb
- Spider Ball
- Varia Suit
- Wave Beam
- Grapple Beam
- Spazer Beam
- Space Jump
- Super Missile

While the Baby Metroid is not an item, it is still skipped since it unlocks parts of the game blocking items.

Part 2 completes the first pass of Area 3, with 7/10 major upgrades collected.
