Metroid: Zero Mission Redux {Part 1} (No Commentary)
5It's great to see Metroid making a huge comeback in 2025. I always held onto hope that Metroid Prime 4 would someday grace us with a release date and it seems the many years of waiting have finally paid off. Very excited for Metroid Prime 4: Beyond!

I am aware there is a 'Hard' mode, but given that I am going for a 100% run, I think I will save Hard mode for another playthrough, because the game is really brutal and it's been a long time since I've played classic Metroid games like this one, so I just put it on normal for now. The final boss gets a health boost if you show up with all 100% of the items, and I'm not ready for that smoke just yet.
A good handful of quality-of-life improvements were made to this game, but I do feel the need to bring attention to a soft-lock area that may not happen in the vanilla version of the game. Refer to the 'Crateria Softlock Warning' timestamp.
The developers originally intended for you to fall down the pit, you aren't supposed to be able to clear to the other side, and if you exit this room through the door on the left, you will no longer be able to access the Power Grip item, and if you fall down into the pit, the Chozo statue will not rise from the ground, forcing you to restart the emulator! Aside from that, I haven't discovered any other game-breaking issues.
