[Mentor's Guild] Post-Release Content

How do you feel in general about the post release content of Assassin's Creed Origins, and why?

The two DLCs released were amazing. Trials of the Gods felt extremely low effort beyond the first time a player fights Anubis. They're all mechanically the exact same fight with nothing to differentiate them except the visual form the attacks of the Bosses take. The released outfit packs were not part of the Season Pass, which was a deserved controversy and one that Ubisoft ideally learns a difficult lesson from. Releasing weapons and trinkets without any missions tied to them is boring, but a rogue's gotta have his knives, so I'll toss ya a coin or two, no problem.

How did you feel about the amount of Post-Release content? How did you feel about the rate that it was released?

The two DLCs were fine, and released at a pretty good rate. I don't have thoughts on the rest of it.

How do you feel about the way the Post-Release content was monetized? (both free and purchasable content)

The pricing for the DLCs was quite good, to be honest. However, an odd thing was that technically Season Pass holders paid more for the DLCs than those who bought them piece-meal, which makes no sense. Don't do this again. The released Outfit Packs were not part of the Season Pass. Don't do this again. It's non-standard and it will irritate players no matter how you attempt to justify it. Just avoid the backlash next time. It's not hard.

Was there any type of Post-Release content that you would like to see return for Assassin's Creed Odyssey?

Both main DLCs were amazing, high-quality experiences that had a great cost:value ratio. I'd love to see similar DLC come back. Trials of the Gods or something similar for Odyssey would be great provided there were more mechanical variety, or if they unlocked a Lore File upon first-time Clear.

Was there any type Post-Release content that you don't want to return for Assassin's Creed Odyssey?

If Trials of the Gods or "looped" content is going to be of comparatively little effort as Origins' cyclical content, just don't even bother. You're wasting your money, and both our time.

What types of new Post-Release content would you see in Assassin's Creed Odyssey?

There is a subset of fans that would literally throw money at your face for Present Day or Isu-related DLC. Capitalize on this. That there was such a paltry amount of attention paid to the metaplot in AC Origins beyond the barebones "here we gave you scraps, now shut up" was downright criminal. Don't do this again. If you won't be responsible with your overarching narrative in the base game, do it in your DLC. Charge us if you must -- but do what's right.
