MICRONICS: Developer Spotlight & Catalog Exploration (Part 1 - NES)
Any Super Pitfall fans out there? How about the NES port of Athena - great stuff, right? It turns out that many of the NES's worst games were developed by Micronics, a Japanese contract studio that was basically a lone college student working out of his garage. Somehow, Micronics managed to sucker SNK, Capcom, and other big publishers into licensing their arcade games for NES ports back in the '80s. Many unhappy childhoods resulted.
In Part 1 of this catalog exploration, we take a look at every US-released Nintendo Entertainment System game that was developed by Micronics. Stay strong. We'll get through this together.
