I want to record some covers in a "live" style, but was worried my studio mic would sound too clean. Decided to do an AB test between my Rode NT2-A condenser mic, Shure SM58 dynamic mic, and the built in mic on the Galaxy S7 Edge. Then of course, I got carried away, and ended up playing around with my voice and showing you guys where I'm up to with it all, especially my dirty vox.

WARNING: This is raw audio without compression. If you turn up the volume for the speaking parts, you may experience regret when I start singing and growling. And since I mucked up my voice before filming, you may experience this regret regardless tbh! XD

The song snippet at the end is "You Won't" from my Asexuality EP: https://destroyermariko.bandcamp.com/album/asexuality

Notes on vocal terminology:
When I say things like chest voice and head voice, please note I'm being very general and it's more to do with how I personally experience the production of these sounds. For my head voice section in particular, I mess with a few different ways of using it and I'm a bit vague on what counts as mixed voice etc. At 8:36 you can hear me do a quieter, more breathy head voice, then right after I do a stronger version on the same notes, so yeah, maybe that's confusing, don't take these labels too seriously. Oh and if you can help me work out what the soft tissue sound is, that'd be great. I have a feeling I meant to write "soft palate" or something but yeah I have no idea!
