Good day everyone, today I want to talk with you about the recent news which are super exciting: Microsoft bought Activision Blizzard for 70 Billion Dollar.
So what will change now: basically nothing, because that deal is not completed yet. Still I see everyone talking about as if it is 100% certain. So I want to clarify: Microsoft WANTS to buy Activision Blizzard for 70 Billion Dollar. Just that simple announcement shook the whole market. They say the deal probably won't be finalized till June 2023, which is still a along time till then
Sony lost almost 20 billion dollar after that announcement and Blizzard went up almost 25% and is now at a value of 82 dollar.
So why would Microsoft want to buy a company thats lost so much money and so much trust as well as a huge postion of their players because of the recent multiple scandals that popped up more and more?
The answer to that is pretty simple: They want to increase the game pass portfolio to the maximum. Another aspect might be, and thats simply my guess: Microsoft wants to claim the Call of Duty Franchise for XBox only, leaving Sony as well as the Playstation in the dust.
My personal opinion on the take over is really positive. Microsoft got the liquid money to pump into quality games as well as pay the creative minds behind the games what they deserve. Also from the players perspective: who doesnt want to play more games for the same monthly payment? Currently 25 million and in the future probably even more will use the game pass.
Regarding World of Warcraft in particular I really hope that they make some changes. For example: don't timegate things so you can grind the shit out of stuff if you really want to and are not capped by a daily limit. I also hope for Microsoft to listen to the community and respond to their feedback alot more than Blizzard did. Simply because they have the capacity to actually provide customer support.
Also please remove the forced borrowed power grinds from the game its just annoying that you have to grind stuff for 1 month before you can even get into raiding or high m+ since that is mostly timegated as well.
