Microsoft FSX - Cessna 172 Cross Country VFR Flight from Lakefront Airport to Baton Rouge
Hello my dear friend, welcome to my channel. I am going on a cross country flight in a Cessna 172 using the Microsoft flight simulator X steam edition. This cross country flight will start from lakefront airport, Louisiana that is KNEW and I am planning to fly to Baton Rouge (KGTR).
Distance between Lakefront airport and Baton Rouge airport is 65 nautical miles and it will take around 33 minutes to fly to the destination airport. I will be flying at approximately 100 knots as shown on the airspeed indicator. I have decided to climb to 3,000 feet on the altimeter.
This flight is VFR flight (visual flight rules) and I will be using dead reckoning to fly to my destination. I will tune in to Baton Rouge airport VOR to measure the distance of the flight. I experienced turbulence at one point during my flight and within few seconds my airport climbed 500 feet.
During my flight I will fly close to Louis Armstrong New Orleans airport which has a class b airspace and I had to take clearance from New Orleans airport to pass through the class B airspace.
There is no GPS on the Cessna 172 that I will fly so I will use the traditional of flying to the destination. There is a little problem may be with the Microsoft flight simulator as it has a big lag in turn. This video is good for all those who are learning to fly and planning for cross country flight.
Hope you will enjoy this video as much as I enjoyed making it. This video will also serve as a lesson to learn for people who are undergoing pilot training and are preparing for cross country flight
